Florajen Probiotics’ First-Ever Skin Care Product Reduces Eczema

New refrigerated wellness supplement is clinically shown to improve the symptoms of the problematic skin condition.

Florajen Probiotics, a top pharmacist recommended indie probiotic brand, is rolling out its first-ever skin health product, Florajen Eczema. This new, expert-recommended refrigerated wellness product is clinically shown to reduce the severity of eczema and improve symptoms of the condition and reduce reliance on steroidal topical treatments, according to the company.

Dr. Marisa K. Garshick, a board-certified dermatogolist in New York City and a Floragen skin care specialist, calls the new consumable product “a simplified solution” for eczema sufferers that provides relief and improves skin's overall quality.

“So many of my patients with eczema – both adults and children – often have to rely on multiple forms of treatment to manage their symptoms of itchiness and redness, and not always options they feel good about putting on or in their bodies,” said Garshick. “I'm thrilled that those who suffer from eczema now have a new and simplified option to turn to with Florajen Eczema. This daily probiotic has been shown to provide long-term relief while reducing symptoms and improving the overall quality of skin.”

According to the National Eczema Association, eczema — a condition regularly categorized by dry, itchy and red skin patches — impacts more than 31.6 million Americans and affects up to 20% of children. To treat symptoms, most patients rely on topical steroids and immunosuppressants to find relief. Florajen Probiotics can be administered daily under medical supervision to reduce eczema severity in current and future outbreaks, providing an effective, long-lasting medical food option without the risk of skin atrophies found in topical steroid treatments.

Florajen Eczema's probiotic blend is mixed into a cold or room-temperature food such as yogurt or a non-carbonated beverage. Safe for children six months and older, the formula has the ability to improve symptoms of redness, itchiness and inflammation by restoring balance and connecting microbes in the gastrointestinal system.

In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, over 90% of participants taking Florajen Eczema experienced clear or almost clear skin in 12 weeks, an 83% reduction in eczema severity, and a 28% reduction in the number of days they used a topical steroid to treat flare-ups.

Florajen Eczema is available for purchase at Amazon, Walgreens and independent pharmacies, and will have a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $39.99 for a 30-single packet count.
